The Flooring Show 2025: Trends to Watch for 2026
A Shift Away from Greys
Last week, we had the opportunity to visit The Flooring Show in Harrogate, one of the most significant events in the UK flooring calendar. It was an invaluable chance to meet with directors from leading companies including Cavalier, Penthouse, and Ulster Carpets, and to see firsthand the trends shaping the industry for 2026 and beyond.
One of the most striking observations was the shift in colour trends. For some time, the market has been dominated by greys and neutral tones, but this year there’s a clear move towards warmer, more inviting palettes. Beige and earthy shades are taking centre stage, complemented by accents of burnt orange and rich verdant greens. This is an exciting departure from the muted tones of the past few years, giving our customers the chance to bring personality and warmth into their homes while maintaining a sophisticated, timeless feel.
We’ve already selected a number of new ranges for our showrooms that will showcase these colour trends.
Sustainability & Natural Materials
Sustainability and the use of natural materials were clear highlights throughout the show. From wool carpets and plant-based fibres to responsibly sourced timber and eco-friendly LVT, leading manufacturers are prioritising environmentally conscious production methods.
These materials not only bring texture, warmth, and authenticity to a home, but also allow customers to make choices they can feel confident about. We’re excited to give customers the chance to see, feel, and explore these beautiful, responsible products for themselves.
Balancing Style and Functionality
The show also reinforced the importance of selecting flooring that balances aesthetics with functionality. Choosing a beautiful colour or pattern is important, but durability, ease of maintenance, and suitability for the space are equally crucial.
From waterproof laminate (Quickstep made their point with a famous “peeing boy” statue) to LVT with the highest-grade wear layers and lifetime guarantees, innovation is firmly focused on long-lasting performance. This reflects what we prioritise across our showrooms in the South West: flooring that looks great and performs for years to come.
Excited to Bring Trends to You
We left Harrogate energised and inspired by the creativity and innovation on display. The Flooring Show has given us a wave of new colours, textures, and sustainable materials — all of which we’re excited to feature alongside our current ranges, offering customers fresh ideas for their homes.
