About Buckfast Carpets & Interiors

Buckfast Carpets & Interiors is an independent family business owned by Steve and Joanna Upperton. From our showroom in Buckfast, near Buckfastleigh, we help customers across South Devon and Dartmoor choose flooring that suits their homes, their lives and their budgets.

A new floor is a decision you live with every day. We believe it deserves time, honest advice and a clear understanding of the costs, from the first samples to the finished room.

Our story: flooring experience and an eye for interiors

Steve was Sales Director at Axminster Carpets from 2007 to 2013, gaining experience in carpet manufacturing, materials and the flooring trade. Joanna's background in interiors brings an eye for colour, design and the details that make a room work.

We took over Buckfast Carpets in October 2018. The showroom had a long history as an Axminster Carpets outlet; today, as an independent business, we can help you compare a range of manufacturers and flooring types.

Advice based on what your home needs

We start by listening: how you use the room, the look you want and what you would like to spend. We explain the options in plain language, including where a better underlay or different material may be worth the extra cost, and where you can make a sensible saving.

You can explore our Buckfast showroom, take time with samples and arrange a free, no-obligation home measure. We provide a written estimate covering the flooring, fitting and accessories, and arrange an experienced fitter when you are ready.

A local business, grateful for your support

We serve Buckfastleigh, Ashburton, Totnes, Dartmoor and the wider South Devon area. Thank you to everyone who visits, recommends us or returns for another room. That trust matters to us, and we work to earn it with fair prices and personal service.

Find us at Lower Mills, near Buckfast Abbey, or tell us about your flooring project. We would be pleased to help.
