Guide fitting prices
These are guide prices for budgeting purposes, not a fixed quotation for your particular job. Prices include any applicable VAT. Your written estimate will set out the work and charges for your job. Please read the terms and conditions supplied with your estimate before ordering.
The guide rates below are for fitting labour. The flooring, underlay, accessories and any preparation or additional work will be identified separately in your estimate.

Carpet fitting has a minimum charge of £80. LVT has a minimum fitting charge of £100 per room; bathroom fitting and specialist designs are priced individually. Borders, intricate layouts and other specialist work will be confirmed in your estimate.
Carpet fitting is based on the carpet quantity, not just the room area
We calculate carpet fitting charges using the square metres of carpet required for the job, rather than simply the floor area of the room. Carpet comes in roll widths, and the cutting plan, pattern matching and fitting allowances can mean more carpet is needed than the room's measured area.
For example, a room measuring 3 metres by 3 metres has a floor area of 9m². If it requires a 3-metre cut from a 4-metre-wide carpet roll, the carpet quantity is 12m², and the carpet fitting calculation uses 12m². Your actual cutting plan and any allowances will be confirmed when we measure.
What additional work might be needed?
Your estimate will identify any additional work needed for your particular job. This may include:
- Uplifting and disposing of existing flooring.
- Moving furniture and preparing the room.
- Stairs, joins, pattern matching and more complex layouts.
- Plywood, smoothing compound or other subfloor preparation, with labour and materials set out separately.
- Gripper, adhesives, thresholds, matwells and other accessories.
- Door trimming, difficult access or additional travel.
These are not all automatically included in the basic fitting rate. We will explain the proposed work and its cost before you proceed. If lifting the old floor reveals something that could not be seen during the measuring visit, any additional work and charges will be discussed and agreed before it goes ahead.
Why we recommend a free estimate
A price per square metre cannot show the full cost of every job. Our free measuring visit lets us check the carpet quantity, layout and visible condition of your existing floor, then provide a written estimate covering your flooring, fitting and any agreed extras.
We work with a blend of employed fitters and vetted independent fitters. We will explain who will provide your fitting, who your fitting agreement is with and who you will pay before you proceed.
